Cath is a social worker and senior manager with 13 years of experience in statutory children’s social work, primarily in child protection, public and private law.

Prior to becoming an independent social worker, Cath's most recent substantive roles have been a Head of Service for Child Protection, Court and Permanence, and a Head of Service for Safeguarding and Review, including responsibility for an IRO service.

She has also been an IRO, Child Protection Chair, and a Team Manager in a number of local authority roles, and before that a social worker in child in need / child protection and looked after various teams.

Cath is an accredited Signs of Safety Practitioner and ABE interview trained. She is able to provide a wide range of reports and assessments, as well as supervising and observing contact for the purposes of assessment.

Cath's specialist area of interest is private and public law. She has considerable experience in writing court reports, statements and giving evidence in court.
She also has experience in assessing foster carers and kinship carers, as well as planning for permanence by way of SGO and adoption.

From September 2020, she is undertaking PAMS assessments, and from January 2021, Cath will also be undertaking AIM3 assessments of adolescents displaying sexually harmful behaviours.
