In a career spanning more than 30 years, Jackie has developed a family law practice that focuses primarily on family finance cases and private law children disputes. She is regularly instructed in the most challenging and difficult cases where the valuable insight she has gained through her role as a Deputy District Judge in the Principal Registry of the Family Division (now the Central Family Court) provides a unique understanding of the complex practical and emotional issues that underpin these cases.

Jackie is a qualified mediator. Her experience as a Deputy District Judge, dealing with First Hearing Dispute Resolutions and Financial Dispute Resolution hearings, has provided a depth of understanding in how to achieve a successful outcome in dispute resolution.

Her career began in general common law, regularly prosecuting for the newly formed Crown Prosecution Service where she learned to think swiftly on her feet, but Jackie was quickly drawn to family law and found her niche in dealing with cases involving families facing emotional trauma and the need to secure their financial future.

Commercially-minded in her approach and with in-depth understanding of complex financial arrangements, she is in regular demand for cases involving the distribution of medium and high-value assets.

In addition to representing clients in the court process, she has experience in representing clients in financial remedy applications that are resolved through arbitration. She also undertakes all forms of section 8 Children Act proceedings, including applications to remove children permanently from the jurisdiction.
She immerses herself in the detail of a case and provides firm and comprehensive advice and attentive service, managing client expectations sympathetically and competently.

She’s noted for her thorough and painstaking preparation and robust advocacy. Seeing her in action in court has been referred to as ‘a masterclass in cross-examination’ as well as being commended for her well-informed opinions and her strategic approach in negotiations, she makes a point of being accessible to make crucial case management decisions and works tirelessly to secure the best possible outcome for her clients.
