Elaine specialises in civil litigation and has been recommended in the Legal 500. Elaine’s primary practice area is financial services litigation although she has a significant amount of experience with general common law cases. Elaine also has an interest in cases under the Trademarks Act 1994.

Financial Services:

Acts for banks and other leading financial institutions in cases which involve allegations of mis-selling of insurance, bonds and other retail products. Elaine also has expertise in consumer credit matters such as unfair relationships, enforceability of regulated credit agreements, connected lender liability (with an emphasis on satisfactory quality) and asset finance. Elaine’s cases often involve procedural aspects such as limitation, disclosure, expert evidence and costs.

Acts exclusively for insurers advising on indemnities, policy cover, liability, quantum and limitation in relation to EL, PL, PI and property damage claims. Elaine also regularly acts for a leading insurance company in relation to subrogated claims for damages involving motor vehicles and arising out of negligence and/or bailment.
